Pleasantly surprised! Nov 01, 2009
By PRT I was a fan of the first Hasbro Fam. Game Night..but the 2nd one is great for both single and multiplayer...You can actually play a random selection of all the mini games within the classic game as single player now. You can use your own mii! The controls are great...and I'm nostalgic about being awarded prizes for all the different Mr.Mrs. Potatoe head faces I can make. I can't stop playing bop it, pictureka or Jenga...But as mini games...in remix mode...all the games flow together seamlessly...much better than the first game. More mini game collections should have this random remix option for all their games to keep it fresh.
The first one, wasn't as fun playing multiplayer, but this one definitely got it right.

Enjoyabe Nov 19, 2009

They improved and fixed a lot of things in this game compared to the first one. I really like Operation, Pictureka, and Jenga. The controls are pretty smooth, and the graphics are good. I would have liked to have seen a larger collection of games included, but overall it is a nice addition to the Wii library as far as family gaming goes. We have played it with players as young as ten and as old as fifty-six and so far everyone has enjoyed it. It is a nice addition being able to unlock different pieces/collections of Mr. Potato head.

Really fun game... Nov 19, 2009
By Michael Minutaglio Ok, I wrote a review a few days ago asking if anyone else was having contriol issues, especially with Bop-It...well, last nite I was playing again and I figured it out, for SHOUT-IT, I was moving my arm up w/ the controller, and it was not registering, you have to just move your wrist...and guess what? I now LOVE THIS GAME!! Bop-It & Pictureka I can play for hours (which I was doing last nite)...yeah I can get the same experiance if I bought original versions of these games, but to have them all in one place that you can play on the comfort of your couch is the best part. Plus you can play the Remix versions of the games, it mixes it up a bit (especially Pictureka). Would definitaly recomend this game.
You can also create your own backgroung music playlist from dozens of different "songs" - some annoying (like the game show songs) to some that are more fun (the Horror and Superhero themes). Also, you unlock new items for your Potatoe Head to customize him as you please, not like the first game where you can add new stuff to your room. I like this way better cause how you customize him he stays like that in every game you play. I also like you can play you Wii in the Game Show mode.
Basically all I can say is give this game time. The first few times you may get frustrated and give up (as I almost did) but once you get the hang of it, it can be hours of fun for everyone!!

Not fun at all very, hard to control Jan 07, 2010
By Jenna from Mississippi
"Jenna"
I bought this game for Christmas 2009 based on other reviews and wish I wouldn't have wasted my money. It is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to control the thing. Pictureka you try to click on the right thing and it clicks on something next to it. Connect 4 it will never drop in the right slot. Operation...I know they say "it takes steady hands" but I think they designed it for a pediatric brain surgeon. Jenga, same as Operation. The only thing that is mildly entertaining is the family game and watching your Mii cheer or hang its head in shame. I don't recommend this game to anyone...even the pediatric brain surgeon. It is just plain not fun.

Good Concept, Not as Much Fun Jan 07, 2010
By Jon Spell I'd read other reviews of this, hoping for something fun my wife and I could play together. Well, we _can_ but the controls make it less fun.
Connect Four is one of two games that we both found fun to play. The only problem with it was the difficulty of choosing which column to drop the piece down. Even using the arrow buttons, we found it likely to twitch and drop the piece down the wrong spot. (Holding it upright lessened this effect.)
Pictureka was the other fun one. We've never played the original version of this, but it's fun frantically looking through the collages looking for something that matched the item list. The only real drawback here is that if you take over from someone else, you can pick the things they picked.
Bop It is a fun concept, but doesn't really work in this format. It's sort of weird that you have this device, that normally you'd do all these actions with, but now you have to do different ones with the Wiimote. And then it gets crazy by throwing in colors of the items that you have to remember and make the correct response. It's pretty easy to get quickly eliminated in this one.
Operation was fun for me, but it wasn't working out for my wife, so we couldn't really play this one much. Like the old game, it really does "take a very steady hand."
Jenga was the worst of the bunch. We found it virtually impossible to extract more than one block without having the whole thing come crashing down. (This ended up being more fun for me, watching it all fall in slow motion.)
Oh, and there's a "Game Show" option, but it just lets you do short mini-game versions of the regular 5. After all the frustrtation, though, we didn't want to play it again, or mess with the Mr. Potato Head construction.
