The hype behind this game is well worth it. This is a must have collection for any basketball fan. The graphic in the game is outstanding and the AI and game play is unbelievable. The players grunt when they take a difficult shot or take a charge. You have to be careful with your passes because the computer is playing for real and picking off lazy passes. Yes, they hyped the game with the return of Jordan, but it is not only Jordan that is in the game. Malone, Stockton, Pipen, Rodman etc. are all in the game. There are players in the game that we all forgot i.e. Bill Wellington with the Bulls. The commentators does a great job with the play-by-play calling and it is bring back memories listening to them talk during the game about when Jordan had the flu. They got all the drama surrounding that correct. I did find a bug in the game. Near the end of the game while, shooting free throws my coach Phil Jackson walked on the floor and stood in the lane. It does take time getting use to play of the game because the defense is much tougher as in previous games. The Jordan challenges is not easy.

I've really enjoyed playing this game. However, I recently ran into a major flaw in the game that has proved to be very disappointing.
Apparently it is a known issue that if you play the "My Player" mode there is a chance of the game freezing. After spending several weeks playing a created character (82 games and the playoffs) the game has reached a point where I can go no further without the console freezing and crashing.
The other modes....season, quick game, and blacktop seem to work fine.

This game is amazing! They fixed many bugs from last year's edition. And the Michael Jordan mode is amazing too. The shooting's got better and more realistic. And the graphics are too good to be for a Wii, you can compare the graphics with the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. If you have a Wii and need an Nba game, this is the one to get.

I've been able to get a lot of play out of this game since its release. Graphics are ok for the wii. I also play the game on my friends PS3 and those graphics are fantastic! This game is frustrating to play with the wii remote. Even if I put the settings on "Rookie," I still have a difficult time playing the game without traveling or moving out of the way on defense. Fortunately, 2K Sports allows compatibility with the classic controller plug-in. In my opinion this is the only way to go! With the classic controller this game is a lot of fun. There are occasional glitches that make me wish I didn't pay 50 bucks for the game. The 38 dollar price is much more worth it. Overall, I will be playing this game for a long time, but if I didn't use the classic controller it would already be on the shelf and I would be back to playing my PS2.

I'm a hardcore Jordan fan in my 30's and I was scared to buy this game when it first came out because they only had reviews for PS3 and XBox 360. I loved playing it on the PS3 so I took a chance and I was not let down! I've been playing it for a couple months so I would have to say the guy that rented didn't play it enough. As far as the wii mote, you hold it out level in front of you for offense and defense and you only lift your arm when you want to shoot as if you were shooting a real basketball. The game is very realistic and the moves and animation are great too, this coming from someone that plays and coaches. The newer arena graphics with reflections, etc., are similar to the PS3. The crowd and commentary is great although I noticed in my "current" Lakers season sometimes the
commentators are talking in a game as if it didn't realize I wasn't playing a Jordan challenge. The amount of options and modes and customizability is really awesome too.
Edit:
For instance, you can adjust your coaching offense and defense as you are playing. If you are losing on the boards, get your guys to crash for rebounds. If you are getting beat on fast breaks, take your guys off the boards. Sag off of people you aren't so worried about shooting and double team the players that are hot.
The Bad: You need a huge TV to see the time and shot clock, probably 55 inch. Sometimes you will find yourself shooting full court 3 pointers by accident in important situations such as tied 85-85 with 24 seconds left. Most of the sounds are great, but the sound when you pull of a hard dunk is terrible! The ISO motion moves aren't as easy to pull off on the wiimote as they are on a PS3 or Xbox 360.
Probably my only real gameplay/graphic nitpick is when the computer auto-subs out Scottie Pippen, they put Michael in the 3, and Craig Hodges in the 2. Craig looks like Michael on my 32 inch TV but he doesn't play like him and it doesn't help my Jordan stats!
The manual tells joystick controls and that's about it. It took me several games to figure out the coaching options, then even more games to realize I could call offensive and defensive plays, then even more to realize I could call substitutions on the fly! So this game apparently assumes you are a hardcore gamer or that you have been playing the 2K series all along.
It doesn't explain anything about multiplayer or online play or the EXTENSIVE amount of modes and options. EXTENSIVE! They could've taken two pages to explain the modes and menus and I'd be happier. The instant replay time is too short, you basically have to pause the game while the ball is still in the hoop to see anything preceding. Lastly, the after game highlights are too flaky. Sometimes you'll get a whole games worth of highlights from several players and sometimes you won't get but one highlight. It's not like I don't have a memory card in my Wii to hold the replays.
But all in all the best basketball game I've ever played and I've been playing basketball video games since One on One: Dr. J vs. Larry Bird in 1983! I prefer the PS3 version still.
