It Needs To Be Taken Off The Market! Nov 26, 2010
By J. H. Iovino I've been waiting for the sims 3 to come out for Wii for 2 years. I pre-ordered it and when I finally played it, I felt ripped off to an unprecedented degree. Now, the other Sims games for Nintendo platforms were glitchy, they even froze constantly and crashed the system from time to time, but THIS game is totally useless! It doesn't seem to work on my Wii at ALL. Yes, the game will run... SORT OF... but there are endless, unbelievable glitches that make playing it a nightmare, and my Wii constantly makes noises like it is desperately straining itself just trying to run the game! Also, the glitches are impossible to work around!
For example, sometimes when I invite a sim over, the sim I want to interact with is INVISIBLE! Sometimes the house itself doesn't load properly or AT ALL. Worst of all, I can't even place houses on the lots because it says I'm over the "fire code" even though the houses are EMPTY and I cleaned out my moving storage, too! What's the point of this game if I can't even upgrade the stupid houses they force you to use? These are just a handful of examples, because I lost count after 1 day of trying to play it. The glitches and malfunctions and problems with gameplay were evident after only an hour or two of playing. EA released this game in order to make money during this holiday season, but the game was NOT READY. It doesn't even WORK! I idiotically threw out my receipt or I would return it TODAY. EA/Nintendo need to give customers a working game or refund our money, as they did with other glitchy games. How can they get away with selling a product that malfunctions to such an extent that it is utterly useless? What gall! All Sims 3 games for Wii should be recalled and pulled off the shelves until they can make a game that works!
I can not tell you how frustrated, shocked, and disappointed I am. Did they seriously think no one would notice that the game won't play anywhere near to an acceptable level on the Wii? Did the discussion go something like "Hmm, the Sims 3 is only 1/25th of the way through testing and development... maybe we should delay its release." "No, we need to get it on the shelves before Christmas 2010! Think of all the profits we'll miss out on if we don't! We'll just have to release it as is." "But, sir, the game doesn't work..." "It doesn't need to work, it just needs to SELL!"
So, BUYER BEWARE. They shoved this game out when it should be in development for AT LEAST another 9 months! What a rip-off!!! Unbelievable! And before you ask, yes, my wii is updated and should run this disc. I can't believe they have the nerve to charge people $50 for this! This is the worst, most disappointing gaming experience I've ever had, and I'm a survivor of the Metroid Prime 2 Main Research room glitch. Ugh!! Get it right for once Nintendo / EA Games!!!

Would NOT Recommend Nov 22, 2010
By April M. Branch

Being an ardent Simmer, I pre-ordered this game and was so excited about it. That quickly changed when I started playing it. It is certainly not worth the price! Problems:
1. The game is EXTREMELY glitchy. 2. The graphics look like back in the day Playstation I graphics. 3. The age progession should be able to be turned off, as I didn't get to accomplish what I needed or wanted to. 4. My sim was watching t.v. and couldn't get up from the sofa, and died of hunger. 5. No firemen to put out house fires. My stove caught on fire, and sim did too, and died. Why are fire alarms needed? 6. People walk through people, cars jam up into each other. 7. There was a logjam of people at the entrance to the restaurant, and they ended up dying. 8. You find yourself "mourning" and don't know why until you figure out that there are various tombstone markers around town from Sims that have died, that you have to put in your inventory and place them at the cemetery. 9. Once you choose an outfit/hair-- you cannot change them. 10. You cannot build homes. 11. Books- I have no idea how to read certain ones (i.e., cooking) once I've purchased them. Once they are placed in the bookshelf, you cannot choose a particular book. You end up reading whatever is there. Therefore, there were certain recipes that I couldn't make, 'cause I couldn't choose the particular book. 12. I purchased trees for my home, and placed them around the house, and the trees end up showing through the inside of the house.
I am so sorry I purchased this game. Castaways for Wii was 10X better! EA should be ashamed of themselves for putting out such a substandard product! I will never purchase a Sim Wii game again!!

Awful version of a great PC game Nov 22, 2010
By Sjbeem This particular platform is just awful. First of all, I am a huge fan, or was anyway, of the Sims PC games. This is a sorry version of it. To begin with, I absolutely hate the fact that you have to use the nunchuck in addition to the wii-mote. It would have been much easier and more convenient, (a lot less frustrating too!), to just use the main remote turned to the side like some other games require. Teaching yourself the commands and buttons is also an exercise in frustration. The instruction booklet that comes with the game seems purposefully designed to make you spend more money to buy the game guide. Why there isn't some sort of beginning tutorial is beyond me. Secondly, you cannot change your clothing or hairstyle. What a disappointment! I took the useless dresser out of my house and bought something else instead. Third and not the least of my complaints is how glitchy the game is. This game was not ready to go live, they should have waited and worked out the kinks before releasing it. Cars pile up everywhere, people die left and right every single day. After the 20th sim day the beach behind my house had more headstones than the cemetery! Weird!! It takes a ridiculous amount of time to wake up, go to bed, shower, make a meal, eat a meal, anything that requires a transition. You can only use objects by putting them in your inventory first, books, meals, etc, but I only found that out by accident. You get the try for a baby prompt even when you are too old to try for a baby and that stupid fire code that keeps you from buying items or even exchanging and trying to purchase other items, is absolutely unnecessary and infuriating. There is probably a way to remedy that, but of course, it's not in the booklet. The only thing I am happy about in reference to this game is the fact that I did not pay full price for it. I had a coupon. Otherwise, I would have been even more disappointed. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!

A teeny bit disappointed Nov 17, 2010
By HighCourt Being a lifetime Sims player, I was super excited to see Sims 3 come out on the Wii (finally!) but after just an hour of playing, I was a little bit disappointed..the gameplay in live mode is choppy.. you have to constantly bring up a menu to see your Sim's needs. Selecting an object to interact with is annoying. It will bring up a menu of every single item surrounding your Sim, so it takes a moment to select what you actually want your Sim to do. The camera and zoom functions were really hard for me to get used to, as they don't seem very intuitive. Some new things... say goodbye to building your own house, this one has prefab houses for you to pick from, all you can do is add walls, doors, stairs, and change carpet and wallpaper, which I like better than building a new house from scratch. Of course the graphics are awesome. The beach town is pretty and you can run around the entire town without it having to load. You still have wishes, opportunities, etc. but you only have 50 days to make your Sim as successful and happy as possible. Of course I havent played it very much so far, so I am waiting to see what everyone else thinks... I'd still WAY rather play Sims 3 on the computer.

Pathetic Dec 04, 2010
By Elizabeth M. Kulpa
"MiraBlackSnape"
Boy, is this the most low-down rip-off of a game I've ever seen in my life. It's nothing like Sims 3 for PC. The graphics are terrible, first of all. Second, you have nowhere near the options for creating characters (face shape, hairstyles, etc) or in building or buying items, that you do on PC. People walk through each other, cars drive through one another, neighbors get stuck in corners in public places and can't get out so they die. You can't line up tasks in advance; you have to wait til your Sim is done washing the dishes, THEN click to have them use the toilet, THEN click to flush (they won't flush it unless you tell them to), etc. Your Sim will make a meal, sit down at the table, and sit there with their dish of pancakes or whatever for a full Sims half-hour before starting to eat. To say the release of Sims 3 for Wii was "rushed" is a huge understatement, because this isn't just a game with a few forgivable glitches; it's just a low-quality game. After playing many quality games by EA, the fact that I paid $60.00 for this makes me feel like I've been totally conned. EA should be ashamed of themselves for even releasing it.
