Tiger Woods
Playing in front of huge galleries and hearing crowd reactions from nearby holes, take your game to the next level when it matters most as you try to hold off a charging Tiger Woods and other PGA Tour Pros. Whether you’re fighting the course, the crowd, dynamic weather conditions, or the field, feel the drama on every swing with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10.

Key Features:

  • Wii MotionPlus Control Accessory Included - Elevate your game with an enhanced, true-to-life golf swing that features precise draw-fade capabilities and authentic sports motion which mirrors your every move.
  • Win the US Open Championship - For the first time ever, feel the drama of playing in the US Open, one of golf’s biggest—and toughest—tournaments of the year. Known for its extremely challenging playing conditions, Bethpage Black tests even the best golfers.
  • Precision Putting - Check out precision putting that will change the way you play the game. Using a single long range putter, the combination of backswing length and the tempo of your downswing determines the distance your ball will travel.
  • Dynamic Weather Conditions - Powered by the Wii Forecast Channel and the Weather Channel, real-time weather now has a major effect on gameplay conditions. If it’s raining in Pontre Vedra Beach, Fl, then you too can face the challenge of a rain-soaked TPC Sawgrass.
  • Enhanced Draw-Fade - Experience heightened accuracy and control with the Wii MotionPlus as it reads how you’re rotated in 3D space when you swing the ball. A slight rotation will result in a slight draw or fade as will a more extreme rotation end up in a greater draw or fade.
  • All-New Disc Golf - Trade your clubs for discs in a fun, new game mode based on the family-fun sport of Disc Golf. Play from custom tee locations on all 27 courses in the game.
  • Multiplayer Support - Online and local support of 2-4 players.

5My initial impressions of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 for the Wii with motion plus.....  Jun 10, 2009 By rgoo242
Here's my initial impressions of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 for the Wii with motion plus.....

I have to say I had really high hopes for this years Tiger Woods game because of the M+, and it honestly has surpassed all of my expectations.

This is is MUST BUY for all Wii Owners, and the version to purchase for all multi console owners.

TW10 is without a doubt the best golf game I have ever played. M+ makes it very realistic & completely immersive.

M+ perfectly reads what you are doing. Take putting for example. For the first time in a TW Wii game putting works just like real life. My first putt, I swung a bit harder than you would in "real life", and my ball shot across the green. It very accurately tracks whether you are taking a long or short putt. You can either look at the onscreen meter, or just swing like you would in real life. Follow through really matters too. The aiming with the M+ is perfect, the worst feature of last years Tiger is now perfectly executed. 2009 putting is still available (not like you would WANT to use it), but with motion plus, just select precision putting instead of standard and you will be amazed.

The swing mechanic? Wow. Taking a shot feels, well....natural. M+ works so much better than any of the previous versions, the accuracy is almost scary. When driving, the harder you swing, the farther the ball goes. Hit at 50% power with a slight fade, that's what you get. Power swing with a draw? You actually having to worry about both your backswing and power/follow through in a golf video game. And if you don't know how to do those things in real life, the tutorial is concise and explains the basics of it all in few short (2 minute) lessons.

Motion+ makes the gameplay jump lightyears beyond any other golf game ever made. The gameplay certainly leaves the more visually stimulating versions(PS360PC) far behind.

The weather on the course you are playing is based on real time weather at the actual course location, which TW checks from the Wii's weather channel.

And the amount of content in this game boggles the mind. Most content packed Tiger Woods game ever.

Included are almost every golf related activity you could imagine, this will keep you busy for a LONG time.

Online Modes include:

*Online play: both simultaneous play & real time tournaments, daily and weekly.

Traditional Modes include:

*Quick Play
*PGA Tour
*Fed-X Cup
*Tournament Challenge (play against some of the toughest challenges in golf history)
*Stroke Play
*Match Play
*Bloodsome
*Greensome
*Skins
*Stableford
*Alternate Shot
*Best Ball
*Four Ball

Arcade Modes Include:

*Disc Golf (available for ALL 27 courses)
*Rings
*Elimination Mode
*One-Ball
*Team One-Ball
*Battle Golf

Mini Games
*Mini Putt (Putt Putt)
*Target
*T-I-G-E-R
*Capture the Flag
*Target2Target

I have only tried the disc golf, but it really shows off the M+. I tried throwing it traditionally, straight up, straight down, backhand and I have to say it works very well. Lots of fun. Gets me excited for Wii Sports Resort!!

2 other points of interest:

There will be downloadable content in the future.

If you are playing local multiplayer, you can play with a "Pass the Wii remote" mode until you get more M+ attachments.

I highly recommend it to anybody looking for a good golf game. It's brilliant.

The 27 included courses:

New for 10:
1. Banff Springs ( Stanley Thompson 18 )
2. Bethpage ( Black )
3. Hazeltine National C.C.
4. Oakmont C.C.

5Great golf game, but the graphics didn't quite make par.  Jun 10, 2009 By Halicon5
Sorry for the bad pun in the title, but the first words out of my mouth when booting this game up were, "Oh wow! Tiger got ugly!" Thankfully, first impressions don't matter for much with this game. Mostly, I purchased this game to get a crack at the new Wii Motion Plus controller accessory, so this review is as much a review of the game as the hardware. If you buy the version with the wii motion plus pack-in, you also get a new silicone sheath for the wii remote, which is a nice touch.

GAMEPLAY: So basically, the game is golf, something that I do quite poorly at in real life. Golf games and I do about as poorly. Every few years I go out and buy a golf game, and I basically pay attention to fun and accessibility. On both counts, the game is very, very good.

CONTROL: With the Wii Motion Plus, this game plays better than any other golf game that I've ever played. Give yourself thirty minutes with the new motion controls and you may never be able to go back to Wii Sports Golf. The controls feel realistic and responsive, but kind enough to make the game accessible to a golf neophyte. Without the Wii motion plus, all I could think of doing was putting the motion plus accessory back on as quickly as possible.

GRAPHICS: Serviceable. I've seen a lot better looking games on the Wii. Water is barely animated and looks pretty pixelated, trees are low res, and character models are only a bit better looking. Character animation is very smooth though and the game seems to match your motions in real life fairly nicely. Oh, but not the crowd... they look really really bad and are animated extremely poorly.

AUDIO: It's golf with announcers. Sometimes the announcers say some pretty funny stuff, but mostly it's what you would expect from any golf event, either in a game or in real life.

FEATURES: Absolutely stuffed.
- This game has lots of game modes, one of them being disc golf. I can already tell that disc golf is going to be one of my favorite party games. Disc golf does away with the announcers and replaces them with some tacky elevator music, but party games usually end up with the stereo blasting mixes from someone's iPod or Zune at unhealthy levels, right?

- Character Customization: Deep and highly customizable. Want to make an aging, pot-bellied, Asian, redneck, punk-rocker with missing teeth, a mohawk, cowboy boots, fu-manchu, mutton chops, and a kilt? You can do it. My friend and I spent at least 45 minutes tricking out our characters trying to make the most outlandish combinations we could think of and we had fun doing it. You can go into the shop and buy additional stuff with your winnings to get even more cool items to trick your character out with.

- As you play, your character gains experience in different abilities and areas. You can spend this experience to boost your stats. This definitely increases the replay value for completionists.

- Online play that doesn't require friend codes!

- Dynamic weather that integrates with the Wii Weather channel. Seems kind of cool. The feature definitely isn't based off of your local weather and seems to be based off the weather at that particular golf course in real life. I'm pretty sure of this because it was raining heavily all evening in my town and none of my games had any rain.

VALUE: With over 20 courses, disc golf, and a decently deep experience system will keep dedicated players playing for a very long time. Multi-player gameplay is a blast and great for groups of friends.

Overall, I recommend this game to anyone that enjoys golf games and also to gamers that only casually enjoy golf games. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the best golf game that I've ever played to date. This game has features that I'll probably never ever see or even touch, but other people may love them. The nearly instantaneous ability to pick up and play the game is very nice, but there are enough nuances to the game that hardcore players will definitely have a game to hone their skills on. This is probably one of the only sports games I will ever review as a "must have" title for anyone who enjoys the genre.

4Amazing Experience.  Jun 10, 2009 By Super Tongue
When I first heard Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 would be supporting Wii MotionPlus, I could have cared less.

I, in all honesty, never even touched a Tiger Woods game before in my life. I'm just not that into golf as a whole. After watching a few videos here and there, they quickly caught my attention.

This game is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, an amazing demonstration of how the Motion Plus can be used. You literally feel as if you're holding the club when going to hit the ball as it tracks the speed you are swinging as well as the angle.

The game is also packed with great features, my favorite being disk golf. In case you are unaware, disk golf is basically golf with a frisbee. With the Motion Plus, though, it feels incredibly real. You can throw it normally, sideways, hell, even upside down and it all happens in real time (with an incredibly minor delay in animation that is barely noticeable).

No longer do your movements feel scripted, the Motion Plus easily fixes that. To see the difference between the regular controller and the Motion Plus, try playing Disk Golf with and without it. (You can simply unplug the addon at any time to revert to the old sensor as well as plugging it back in to revert to the new one without any kind of setup.)

While the game is great and has plenty of content and online abilities, the only area that I find troubling is the graphics. The courses, as a whole, look great and the character animations for your golfer are great as well, but some of the textures seem stretched and overall low quality.

Not to mention the lack of even a minor amount of Anti-aliasing on the characters (and even the ball) at times.

The multiplayer is great online and offline and the entire game as a whole has plenty of replay value. For a full list of information, check out sites like IGN to see what the game really as to offer.

Summary:

Pros:
+ MotionPlus - Remember the first time you played bowling in Wii Sports? Yeah, this is about 300x cooler.
+ Pretty Damn Fun - Golf, while not known for it's incredible amount of excitement, fits great with the Wii MotionPlus and keeps you addicted.
+ Plenty of Modes - From Career to Party games, this disc is crammed with plenty of things to keep you and your friends busy all day.
+ Online Support - While I didn't get to completely try it out, the game supports online tournaments as well as DLC costumes for your character.

Cons:
- Graphics - While they are fairly good for a Wii game, they lack the polish of some first party titles, such as Super Mario Galaxy. Not to mention the low quality of the textures in major areas.
- Almost... Too Precise - While the Wii MotionPlus is great in how it works, it can be somewhat too precise for beginners. It took me a few hours to grasp how to swing in order to avoid getting a Draw or Fade, for example. Other things, such as Disk Golf, come naturally.

So that's about all I can come up with. If you're looking for a more in-depth review, once again, check out sites like IGN as they cover more areas. From a consumer standpoint, this game is pretty damn good. If you like golf in any way, I'm sure you'd love this game. Just make sure to get the bundle!

5best game ever  Jun 14, 2009 By emperor of icecream
Golf video games will never be the same again. Since they added the wii motionplus, the golf swing on the wii is far more realistic now than ever before. The main problem with TW09 was that it was too easy and that every shot you hit went dead straight. Now the controls are very much more sensitive, as you can fade or draw using a real fade or draw swing. I believe golfers will love this game and from here on out, it will only get better.

Some of the improvements over TW09:

-Better swing control, you can hit it offline in a hurry if you're not careful. Better power control, 100% vs. 90% vs. 80% seem more like the real thing (TW09 was bad in this regard).

-Much better putting, small stroke for a tap-in and a big stroke for a lag putt. You can also hit it badly, i.e. push it or pull it.

-Better online play. Weekly and Daily tournaments. Wow.

-Others (these are minor as far as I am concerned): Disc golf, real-time weather, more courses, more players.

Things they can do better:

-Graphics: they are the same as TW09 and worse than the Xbox or PS3 versions, but hey, you can't have everything.

-Speed it up: It takes about 20 - 30 mins to play 18 holes

-Chipping: this is still not great

Summary:

Yes it is the best game ever. If you like golf you need this game.

5FINALLY! A Wii game to be excited about!!  Jun 16, 2009 By A. Swain
I have had a Wii for over a year now, and have had over 15 different games, and I have got to say Tiger Woods 10 is by far my favorite - and I'm not even a golf fan! Everything is great about it: The graphics, the sound, creating characters, the new game modes, the three different types of career modes, load times, driving, putting, and even water hazards! Ok, maybe not water hazards.

I will start with everyone's favorite, the graphics. AMAZING!! (for the Wii, of course.) I saw an earlier reviewer who wrote this: "Great golf game, but the graphics didn't quite make par." That is BOGUS. I guarantee that you will be happy with these graphics. That person was obviously just trying to be cute with the golf par pun, and didn't care about writing an accurate review. Obviously, the graphics of Tiger Woods 10 on the Wii aren't "par" with what they look like on the 360, but no Wii game ever will... but let me tell you, this one comes close. Anywho, the landscaping, while not exactly perfect and smooth, is still attractive and at some times pretty. The crowd is fine, but again, pretty good considering this game is for the Wii. The characters look realistic and their movements seem flawless. For the graphics, I give an A+.

To me, the most important and amazing part of Tiger Woods 10 is the controls. Flawless, perfect, amazing, www.thesaurus.com help me find more adjectives! This is why you must get this game. I got the bundle with the MotionPlus accessory, and I have to say, I am in awe. I have played a little (real) golf, and I can tell when I have a good swing or a bad one, and I swear that translates into the game. A nice smooth swing will get you much better results than some fast, jerky vertical type of baseball swing. And while driving, you actually do have to swing fairly hard. I tested many different swings (in their new club tester mode, hooray!) and if I swung a little too softly, I didn't get 100%. And even putting is great! I use the precision putting mode where you get only one putter and the size and power of your swing determine the distance the ball travels, as opposed to classic where you choose from different putters with different strengths, which just isn't realistic. Anyway, precision putting IS realistic. It's very realistic - except when you miss that par putt you don't feel like throwing your golf club (aka your Wii remote) into the lake (aka your TV screen). It's so realistic, I sometimes have the urge to put on my golf shoes before starting up my Wii. For the controls, I give ten A+'s and a million friggin' gold stars.

Multiplayer and online - again, amazing. I have only played with a friend at home (we had to get her the MotionPlus accessory as well), but it is addictively (this game inspires me to make up words) fun. There are online modes where you can play in daily tournaments or weekly four round tournaments against your friends or the rest of the world. I didn't even know the Wii had online capabilities, but I am going to hook mine up just so I can play in these tournaments. There is even what they call "Dynamic weather", which takes the weather forecast from each course and integrates it onto the course in your game. Overall, multiplayer and online get yet another A+

Game modes. I have only tried the career mode and a quick game against a friend. The career mode seems to be long, and it definitely doesn't lack in detail. While you play, you gain experience depending on how well you are doing throughout a course. If you have a great drive, you gain experience in the "power" category. If you get 10 feet away from the hole off a drive on a par 3, you get power and accuracy, and if you sink the putt you gain focus and putting, and because you got a birdie your receive a x2 multiplier. After the course, it will show you how much you've gained in each category, and if you have accumulated enough points you can distribute it in the "skills" section. During my career, I have played courses where whoever has the lowest after 18 wins, and some where you are playing against another golfer, and whoever wins the most holes is the winner. If you win, you get more money. Everyone loves money. You can then visit the pro shop and buy new clubs, or even balls, that give you different skills boosts. And you can, of course, buy new clothes - man those polo's are expensive! Overall, A+

If I haven't convinced you to buy the game yet, let me go through some extra things that I loved.

-First, I don't think I have ever (seriously, ever) played a game with this quick of load times. You turn your Wii on and less than a minute later you are already on the tee.

- There are 27 courses (10 of which are new), and that means 486 holes. Wow, am I seriously never going to get bored here?

-The character creation is great, too. You can make so many different types of people: from men and women, fat to thin, young to old, Asian to country, ridiculously cartoonish and hilarious to just plain boring - whatever you want, basically! It's all there.

I guess that just about sums it up. If you get this game, which you seriously need to, then get the bundle with the MotionPlus. If it seems like $59.99 is a little much, then just think: Tiger Woods 10 blows any of your old Wii games out of the water, so you'll just be selling them all anyway. Thanks for reading, now if you'll excuse me, I'm putting for the birdie that will put me 6 under for the day.
