| | Description | We Ski & Snowboard is a wintry thrill ride through many different environments on the awesome Mt. Angrio and cool Jamboree Snow Resort. Players enjoy the classic motion-based controls popularized by We Ski using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, or by adding the increased realism of the Wii Balance Board for even more ski and snowboard action. Custom characters and player Mii’s add even more dimension to snow-capped adventures across even more mountain terrain than ever with vast free-riding areas. Leisurely gondola rides to sloping peaks invite a breathtaking panoramic experience, while heli-drops from extreme dizzying heights offer-up opportunities to shred down vertical cliffs and severe precipices. Players should be sure to watch out for avalanches! | |

Addictive and FUN!! Mar 12, 2009
By A. Hudson
"papillon_lover"
I have had this game for a week now and cannot stop playing it! It is very addictive! I am a 35 year old female and play it with my 37 year old male friend. We are hooked! I also own We Ski and was hoping this was like that but more enhanced. It is! I think the snowboarding is the most fun! You can take a gondola to the top of the mountain or even a helicopter! The graphics are super and you can also use your Miis. You can play in night or day mode just like We Ski. There are a lot of `hidden' areas that you can find on the slopes. I cannot say enough about this game, it is fun! I find this one of the more relaxing games I own. And addictive! One thing I think people do not realize is you do not have to have the balance board to play this. That is only an option. I own the wii fit and tried the balance board on We Ski but found it harder. So when I got this game I have only used the wii mote and nunchuk and find it a lot more `hands on'. If you are looking for a game you will grab a lot to play this is it!
Updated on 12/21/09 - This game is still played regularly in my house. I am now 36 and my friend in 38. Every time he comes over this is one of the games he grabs out of my collection to play. It is still as much fun as playing it the first time. I accidentally deleted my friend's mii and he was so happy to be able to find the hidden areas on the slopes again. We enjoy playing this game as we are winding down. It is perfect for night time in the night time mode and with the graphics and the sound it just relaxes you.

Wow, Loads of fun Mar 09, 2009
By Styx_Ray Wow, this game is loads of fun. We got it last thursday and been playing it every day since.
I played it by myself first as I afraid it may be too tough for the kids. I was addicted right away and found it rather simple to control after a short little while of getting used to it.
I then made one kid go to ski school (my 8 year old) and the other jumped right on (6 yrs old) after watching her older sibling. The ski school had too much reading for the 6 year old, but she caught on right away just by watching my other kid at ski school.
Both kids were on the slopes in no time. We ski two at a time, as we only have two remotes. But what a lot of fun as you can ski whereever you want. You can also connect back up if you get lost throuh the map. it is loads of fun to try and follow each other.
As for the balance board, I tried it for one round. But I had more fun with the hand remotes for ski, I thought the balance board was better for the snowbaord. But I perfer skis.
After hours over the weekend we still have not seen every trail, plus loads of competions etc.. still await us. I think this game will hold it's appeal for a while. Plus I like to stand and be active playing this, so it helps me to burn a few calories.
Two whole mountains of slops. Yahooo.

Better than the original, but still has room for improvement Mar 23, 2009
By Tony I have both "We Ski" and "We Ski and Snowboard". Unfortunately, you still cannot control speed with the balance board. This new game has a smaller ski resort, but a new additional natural mountain.
There doesn't seem to be point to the game anymore. In "We Ski", you were graded on how well you skied each run. You could strive to get the best grade on each slope, but that is gone.
There are new things to do, but not enough for me. The new "task based" quests are too much like work, and don't entice me to play.
Bottom line: If you are tired of playing "We ski", then this game will not revive your love of the game. However, if you still can't get enough of "We Ski", then you'll love this update.

Great game for all ages Jun 19, 2009
By Melissa We have been very pleased with Wii Ski & Snowboard. It's a simple game to learn and easy for all three of our kids to play (ages 5, 7, & 10). The tutorial is well done, so that even our non-reading 5 year old quickly figured out how the controls worked. Additionally, it has several different play modes, from competitive races for our oldest to leisurely exploring for our middle child.
The two player mode is excellent!!!! The screen is split and both players can ski independently of the other. For example, our daughter likes to ride the lifts up and down and while the adult playing with her would like to ski. That's no problem. We ski and she rides lifts. A wonderful feature for two players that might have different interests or when playing with an ADD child.
It uses the balance board, which means the kids are up and moving. While it can easily be played with just the controller and nunchuck, the kids have more fun using the balance board.
There is one feature I do not like. On the races, even if the player comes in second, it displays "You Lose" and the Mii is visibly upset. It's a bit of a problem for younger children that don't like to lose. It's a minor complaint, but we've had a few melt downs over second place finishes.
To only have the game a few weeks, it's gotten significant play time and does seem to be one that will get some pretty extensive play for the foreseeable future.

Very fun, Great game Mar 12, 2009
By S. Allen Got this game last Thursday and have played about 30 hours or so on it so far. Haven't even seen 1/2 of it as there are tons of areas you can go. I really enjoyed the downhill competition both on skis and snowboard. Started with skis but now actually prefer the snowboard. Unlike the first 2 reviewers I really enjoy the balance board especially for the snowboard.
The only thing I don't like about it (unless I just haven't figured out how to do it) is that when you do the competitions there is no record of it kept. I think they should have had high score/ low times recorded. Other than that the game is great.
