These need work Jan 29, 2010

First off putting these together is a nightmare, read your directions. Once I got these together we loaded Wii fit plus into our Wii to work out and they worked out minimally on the boxing portion of the Wii fit plus, they seemed to miss a left punch once in a while. The huge disappointment came when we worked out with EA Active extra workouts. We tried these with several arm exercises and NONE of them registered! Also, keep in mind that you WILL need an extra controller if you have bought these because like I said in the beginning, they are a nightmare to take apart.
I thought the idea of weights was a great one, unfortunately the technology needs work and the motion sensor is inside the weight handle and I think the beam just doesn't register to the console. I'm very apprehensive to buy a different brand. We also don't use the band that comes along with EA Active, we have dynabands that are of different stiffness and I would suggest that to someone who really wants a good workout....that's what were going to stick with! Sorry, no Wii weights for us!

Fun despite its limitations Jan 29, 2010
By Ann M. Fisher I purchased these dumbbells to use while using Walk It Out. I have unlocked almost all of the capsules on the island (i.e., I have finished most of the game-playing elements) and all there is left to do is walk to the music. These dumbbells are excellent for walking and swinging my arms. I try to walk 10,000+ steps, and the <2 lb. weight is perfect for each arm for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.
The dumbbells are also good for Dancing With the Stars. I kept my arms up for another half an hour and got a good workout.
True; the sensor is not sensitive. I could not rely on the sensors for any game that requires multiple clicks. However, it's a good way to sneak in light arm weights while using the balance board or DDR mat.

Pretty cool Feb 06, 2010
By Laura I. Cons: - This is annoying to put together! Follow the instructions carefully or you'll be sitting there for 20 minutes or longer. But even the directions are a little confusing... - The weight rings are all the same. If you already work out with more weights this will be a waste. - Not every Wii Fit game allows you to use the nunchuck, HOWEVER...
Pros: - ...if you want a dumbbell in both hands you can unplug the nunchuck and the cord stays in the barrel of the other dumbbell so it's not loose. - If you're not big on lifting weights, this is great for starting out with. - It makes the excercises more challenging.

Could be better Mar 14, 2010
By RIRose This product could so much better if heavier weights were available. I enjoy working out with the Wii, but want heavier weights. Hopefully they will offer additional weights!

Just finished a workout with these weights this feels great, makes the exercise games much more real feeling I used it for the Jillian Michael's game and I love it was easy to put in and take out
Overall it a great accessory
I would change the product from White and have the whole piece one darker color but the product itself is great
